Economy Annealed Copper Wire
When new, this wire solders well, crimps and will make high integrity connections with all types of terminal arrangements. However, it is only recommended for marine applications where it is not exposed to wet and high moisture conditions ie. engine rooms and any below waterline situations because it will start to corrode as soon as it is placed in the marine enviroment.
Definitely not to be used in installations such as Anchor. Steaming, Navigation lighting mast wiring (wind instruments).
After just a few months, it will not accept solder or any form of termination. Compared with tinned wire, it has a much shorter useful life.
It is cheaper than tinned wire, but crucial wiring should not use this product.
The use of adhesive lined heatshrink will help to prevent corrosion of crimped lug connectors. This process seals the connection, allowing the use of this wire where price is a consideration in long runs of heavy gauge wire, for example, winch applications.
Our wire and cable range of tinned copper wire is the preference of our installers. |
